THE MOUSE

This poem was written by me (in 10 minutes flat). My parents thought it was very good so I passed it to my teacher Puan Chan, who then had it published in the Sekolah Sri Nobel newsletter. This is my first published work.

The Mouse
It was the night before Christmas . . . .
In the darkness of the night . . . .
I walked into my bedroom . . . .
And on the wall . . . .
A scary shadow cast by lightning,
It was absolutely frightening,
I then shouted till I was hoarse . . . .
A mouse!

Then I ran across the room,
Which was filled with total gloom,
I then hopped into my bed . . . .
When I heard a great big BOOM!
It was caused by the mouse,
Which then ran across the house,
I was filled again with fright . . . .
But at least I was in a drowse!

PICTURE FRAME PROJECT

The pictures on the wall were from a project that we did when we changed the colour of the paint on the wall. We felt the wall was too dull so we brightened it with a lighter coat of paint. Then we had to get new pictures to match. We decided to put our own work up which meant getting some flowers or leaves from our garden, painting paint on them and then pressing and transferring the motifs onto a piece of paper.

My motif was from a leaf that fell from one of the trees in the garden.

MAKING NOODLES

Papa and I running the dough through the pasta making machine. We can make linguine or fettuccine (or oriental mee or kuey teow) depending on which settings we use. Papa says Mummy bought this machine for him one Christmas and he said it was a good deal for her as she then got free noodles.

Since the noodles are fresh, they only need to be boiled between 2 to 5 minutes.

THE BIONICLE WAR

The 3-way fight of the millennium is on.
Toa Jaller kicks Lightering off the steep ledge.

Lightering falls to the canyon floor.

Toa Jaller whilst watching Lightering fall, does not notice Nocturn behind him.

Nocturn tries to push Toa Jaller off the cliff.

Toa Jaller hangs on for dear life.

Lightering rises from the canyon floor leaps and grabs Toa Jallers leg.

Whilst this is going on, Nocturn is ready to jump.

Upon seeing Nocturn jump, Lightering lets go of Toa Jallers leg.
Nocturn
and Lightering face off.

Nocturn : "Toa Jaller come on down, its your turn to die!!! Ha Ha Ha!!"

Toa Jaller crushed.

The losers - defeated and conquered.

The victor takes a bow.

- THE END -

We seem to worry continually about our little fella Leon; being such an active child whether he eats enough, whether he will injure himself, whether he will grow up to be a responsible individual, etc . . .etc . . . . . However, his take on life can be seen below :

MESSAGE FROM PAPA

Dear Toni and Leon,

Recently, Papa is rather happy that both of you together with Mummy have started learning Mandarin in the fun way.

I hope this fun process will continue until all three of you become proficient in the language.

Do remember reviewing your Science in English too. It will be very useful later in your lives.

Your very loving Papa

Dear Madam and Ladies,

RE: Letter of Appreciation

As today is the last day for Toni and Leon to spend with their classmates and with all of you at Taska Apple Kindercare, we their parents would like to take this opportunity to express our deep appreciation for all your care and guidance extended to our children during the last few years.

We are aware of your challenges in discharging your responsibility to all those little angels who more often than not, were also capable of causing tremendous problems and stress to all of you. And yet, under the loving and able stewardship of Madam Lim and with the dedication from all the staff, today, they have completed their studies and growing up with you. We are sure they will remember the time spent with fondness.

We would also like to express our special thanks to Teacher Tang for her guidance extended to our children, especially in regards to character development. We were often impressed that Teacher Tang, like Madam Lim, truly pays personal attention to everyone of the children. They deserve our deep respect.

To all the other staff, we are also indebted to each and everyone of you in helping to care and guide our children during the last few years; we wish the best to all of you.

Do keep up with your good work, and do remember that we truly appreciate all that you have done. Yours is indeed a noble profession.

Yours Sincerely,

Robyn and May Fook Toh
